Swati Dandekar, Democratic candidate for Congress in Iowa’s 1st Congressional District, announced her fundraising totals today. In only two months, Dandekar received $223,747 in contributions.
“I am honored and humbled,” said Dandekar. “People were not only willing to donate, they want to get involved. They want a better government. The last two months have energized me, as we work toward building a successful campaign.”
“As a naturalized citizen who immigrated to the United States 40 years ago, I am truly living the American Dream,” continued Dandekar. “As a member of Congress, my job will be to work toward making the American Dream possible for every Iowan.”
Swati Dandekar is a former State Representative, State Senator and member of the Iowa Utilities Board. Dandekar is running for Congress to bring jobs to eastern Iowa, strengthen the Affordable Care Act, so all Iowans have access to affordable health insurance, and to make sure that Iowa students are able to compete in the global, high-tech economy.
